Willard Strategic Plan Overview
1. Enhance Student Growth and Achievement
- Objective: Address learning losses from the pandemic and sustain educational progress.
- Actions: Share best instructional practices, analyze academic data, and make instructional adjustments. Hire a new teacher for LAB B programming and collaborate with special education staff.
2. Foster Social-Emotional Learning
- Objective: Equip students PK-22 with key social-emotional skills.
- Actions: Support the implementation of Responsive Classroom, integrate professional development into faculty meetings, and ensure each classroom has time for morning meetings.
3. Professional Development for Faculty
- Objective: Provide targeted professional development to improve teaching practices.
- Actions: Offer a minimum of three hours of in-person training, increase Responsive Classroom training participation, facilitate professional development sessions and book clubs, and continue cultural competency training.
4. Optimize Technology Use and Facilities
- Objective: Balance technology use and enhance learning environments.
- Actions: Collaborate with IT on responsible technology practices, upgrade outdoor spaces, and implement a year-long community service project.
5. Expand Multi-Tiered System of Support
- Objective: Strengthen support systems for diverse student needs.
- Actions: Expand Amplify DIBELS usage, enhance MTSS implementation, and provide professional development on data-informed instruction.
6. Celebrate Diversity and Community
- Objective: Promote inclusivity and community engagement.
- Actions: Organize school-wide activities celebrating diversity, create visual displays for cultural heritage, and continue celebrating diversity through assemblies and events.
7. Recruit and Retain Diverse Staff
- Objective: Increase diversity among staff and ensure retention.
- Actions: Work with DEIB and HR Directors to recruit diverse candidates and retain staff members.
