Have fun learning to communicate with your hands! Taught by CPS teacher of the hearing impaired, Carol Hauser, this interactive program incorporates songs, books, and games to make the learning of sign language a fun experience. During the six sessions, participants will develop a basic sign language vocabulary, including finger spelling the American Sign Language alphabet. Location: Willard Library

This event is our first performance as a 5th Grade Band. In an informal setting, we will offer a bit of insight into our classroom and what is being learned beyond the notes. Students will demonstrate our daily routines as well as short excerpts from our method book and concert repertoire in an open-rehearsal format with explanation and context being provided by the band directors.

BOKS is a before school activity program to get kids grades K-5 moving to kick start their brains for a day of learning! This 45 minute, fitness based (no sports experience necessary) class will be held from 8-8:45am. every Wednesday and Friday beginning January 6th through February 12th. Please note, when you sign up, the child is committed to attend both days of the week. BOKS certified instructors Marianne Balfour and Ashley Kilmartin will lead the kids for 45 minutes of fun activities including running, learning various fitness exercises, dodge ball and other games. Scratch is a computer programming language specifically designed by the MIT Media Lab for elementary aged children. It is easy to use and very powerful. The students will learn the skills to create dynamic and interactive computational media projects such as animations, games, and stories. The goal is to foster a Scratch community where the students can help each other and learn from each other. The club is for grades 3-5.
